September 24 — “Who Is This King of Glory?” Psalm 24:7–8
“Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.
Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.”
Psalm 24:7–8 Sound Devotional
Reflection
This question is not asked because heaven is unsure—it is asked because earth must recognize Him.
“Who is this King of Glory?” is a summons, a trumpet-call echoing through realms, demanding alignment, awakening, and surrender.
He is the King who approaches gates that have been shut by fear, by time, by trauma, by religion—and commands them to lift. He does not knock timidly. He advances in authority. The gates are not asked whether they agree; they are commanded to respond.
This King of Glory is the Lord strong and mighty—mighty not only in ancient battles, but in your present warfare. He is mighty against delay. Mighty against confusion. Mighty against cycles that have resisted prayer but must now bow to glory.
Glory here is not mere brightness—it is weight. The weight of God’s presence pressing false supports until they collapse. When the King of Glory enters, what cannot sustain holiness gives way. That is why gates must lift—old structures cannot contain Him.
This psalm is being spoken again in this hour. God is confronting internal gates: mindsets, permissions, limits you unknowingly agreed with. He is also confronting territorial gates—atmospheres over families, cities, and worshippers who are being positioned as living doorways.
You are not just inviting Him in.
You are becoming the gate He enters through.
And the question is asked again—not by doubt, but by awe:
Who is this King of Glory?
He is the Lord of Hosts—Commander of angel armies, Ruler of time, Master of worship, enthroned in praise yet walking into battle. Where He comes, victory is not negotiated—it is enforced.
So lift your head.
Lift your expectation.
Lift your worship beyond familiarity.
Because the King of Glory is not passing by—He is entering.
Prayer
Lord of Hosts, King of Glory, we lift every gate of our hearts, homes, and territories. Come in with Your weighty presence and rule in power. Displace all resistance and establish Your glory among us. Be enthroned in our worship and victorious in our battles. In Your Name of the King of Glory we pray.
