October 7 — Come Boldly Hebrews 4:16
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16 Sound Devotional
Reflection
There is a throne in heaven—but it is not called a throne of judgment for the redeemed. It is called a throne of grace.
The invitation is startling: Come boldly. Not timidly. Not crawling in shame.
Not negotiating your worthiness.
Boldness is not arrogance—it is confidence in the finished work of Christ.
Many believers live as though the veil still hangs. They pray from a distance, as if heaven requires persuasion. But when Jesus cried, “It is finished,” the veil was torn from top to bottom. Access was not earned—it was granted.
Boldness means you know who sits on the throne.
You are not approaching a reluctant King. You are approaching a High Priest who was “touched with the feeling of our infirmities.” He understands weakness. He sympathizes with pressure. He intercedes with compassion.
The Spirit is saying: “Stop standing outside doors I have already opened.”
There are moments—especially in seasons of national shaking, personal testing, or prophetic burden—when the enemy whispers, “You’re not ready. You’re not worthy. You’ve missed it.” But the Word says come boldly in your time of need—not after you have fixed yourself.
Mercy is received. Grace is supplied. Help is timely.
Boldness is covenant language.
When Esther approached the throne of a natural king, she risked death. When you approach the throne of grace, you receive life.
This is also an intercessory call. You cannot carry governmental authority in prayer if you shrink back in insecurity. Those who understand access pray differently. They petition with confidence. They decree with alignment. They stand in the gap knowing they are heard.
The throne is not a courtroom for condemnation—it is a command center for mercy.
Come boldly for:
• Personal breakthrough.
• Family restoration.
• Land healing.
• National repentance.
• Fresh commissioning.
He is not intimidated by your need. He is moved by your faith.
Prayer
Father, thank You that Your throne is a throne of grace. Teach me to approach You with holy boldness, not shame. Let mercy cover every weakness, and let grace empower me in every assignment. Strengthen my confidence in Christ, and anchor my heart in covenant access. I come boldly before You today—ready to receive, ready to stand, ready to obey. In Jesus’ name, amen.
