October 24 — Knowing His Ways Psalm 103:7
“He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”
Psalm 103:7 Sound Devotional
Reflection
There is a difference between witnessing His acts and understanding His ways.
Israel saw the Red Sea split. They saw manna fall. They saw water from the rock. But Moses knew why God moved the way He did.
Acts reveal power. Ways reveal heart. You can experience miracles and still misunderstand Him. You can receive provision and still not perceive His pattern.
God’s acts inspire awe. God’s ways cultivate intimacy.
Acts Impress. Ways Transform.
The children of Israel rejoiced when the sea opened—but they murmured when the wilderness stretched long. Why?
They saw what God did. Moses sought how God thinks. In Exodus 33:13, Moses prayed:
“Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way.”
Not just Your works. Not just Your power. Your way.
Knowing His ways anchors you when His acts seem delayed.
His Ways Often Defy Human Logic.
He leads through wilderness before promise. He prunes before fruitfulness. He humbles before promotion.
If you only know His acts, you may misinterpret the process. But if you know His ways, you will trust Him in silence as much as in spectacle.
His way is often: Slower than our preference. Deeper than our comfort. Holier than our assumptions. But always purposeful.
Ways Are Learned in Nearness
Moses met with God face to face. He lingered in the tent. He asked questions. Ways are not downloaded in haste. They are discerned in presence.
When you know His ways: Correction feels like love. Delay feels like preparation. Order feels like mercy. Silence feels like invitation.
Beloved, seek more than breakthroughs. Seek understanding. Because when you know His ways, you will not stumble when His methods surprise you. You will recognize His signature even when the path feels unfamiliar.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, teach us Your ways. Let us not be satisfied with witnessing Your acts alone. Draw us into deeper understanding of how You move, how You think, and how You lead. Anchor our hearts in Your patterns so we can trust You in every season.
Great Father, in the Name of the Son of Your Love, Lord Yeshua, we pray.
