“And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

John 14:13–14  Sound Devotional

Reflection

There is a holy boldness in the word anything.

When Jesus spoke these words, He was not giving a blank check for selfish ambition. He was opening a covenant door. “Anything” is not about indulgence—it is about alignment. It is about asking in His name, which means according to His nature, His authority, and His heart.

To ask in His name is to ask as one who has been joined to Him.

The Spirit of the Lord would say: Do not shrink your prayers because of past disappointment. Do not reduce “anything” to “barely.” The King is not intimidated by your request. He is glorified when the request magnifies Him.

Sometimes we limit “anything” because we are more aware of our weakness than His dominion. But “anything” flows from throne authority, not human qualification.

The early church understood this. After the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, recorded in Acts of the Apostles, they asked for boldness—and the place was shaken. They asked for healing—and miracles followed. They asked for direction—and entire regions were transformed.

The key was not volume. It was alignment.

When you ask in His name: You are asking from covenant. You are asking from relationship. You are asking from union.

There are things the Father longs to release, but He waits for sons and daughters to ask. Not beg. Not strive. Ask.

“Anything” includes: Provision for the vision He gave you. Freedom from the bondage He already broke. Wisdom for the assignment He entrusted to you. Nations He placed in your heart.

The Spirit whispers: Stop praying survival prayers when I have given you kingdom authority.

Ask for the mountain to move. Ask for the prodigal to return. Ask for the atmosphere to shift. Ask for the yoke to break.

Ask—and ask believing that His glory is the goal.

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, teach us to ask in the name of Jesus with boldness and purity of heart. Align our desires, Father, with Yours so that our “anything” reflects Your glory. Remove all fear and small thinking from our prayers. Lord, we ask according to Your will, trusting that You are faithful to do what brings honor to Your Son.

In Jesus’ name, we pray, we pray, we pray. Amen.
