“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.”

Jeremiah 33:3        Sound Devotional

Reflection

Jeremiah received this word while shut up in prison. The nation was breaking, Jerusalem was under siege, and everything visible said loss. Yet right there—inside confinement—God spoke an invitation, not a warning: Call to Me.

This verse reveals the heart of God in dark seasons. He does not withdraw when circumstances close in; He draws nearer. The command to call is not about volume—it is about posture. God invites intimacy before information. Relationship before revelation.

The phrase “great and mighty things” can also be translated as hidden, fortified, inaccessible things—realities beyond human discovery. These are not things you reason into; they are things God unveils. He shows them to those who call, not to those who merely observe.

This is a verse for transitions. When old structures are collapsing and the future feels sealed off, God says revelation is still available. Prison did not silence Jeremiah’s voice, and pressure will not silence yours. Heaven is not locked because earth is.

Calling activates unveiling. Prayer becomes the key that opens what cannot be forced open. God answers not just with words, but with sight—He lets you see what He sees, know what He knows, and align with what He is doing next.

This is also a promise for now. God is still showing His people things they do not yet know—strategies, timings, alignments, and kingdom realities hidden from the proud but revealed to the humble. The future is not closed; it is waiting for a call.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we call to You. Thank You Lord for opening our eyes to the things we cannot see on our own. Thank You for revealing what has been hidden and strengthening our trust in Your voice. Even in confinement or uncertainty Lord, teach us to pray and to listen. Show us great and mighty things, according to Your promise. In Jesus’ mighty, mighty name, amen and amen.
