"Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him."

1 John 5:14–15 Sound Devotional

Reflection

Confidence before God is not rooted in volume, repetition, or effort—it is
rooted in relationship. These verses reveal a powerful truth for this hour:
heaven is not distant, and prayer is not uncertain. When we pray according to His
will, we are not sending words into the air—we are aligning with what God has
already purposed.

This is the confidence being restored to the people of God: not merely that He
can hear, but that He does. And more than that—when we know He hears us,
we are invited to rest in the assurance that the answer is already in motion. Faith
is not waiting anxiously for heaven to respond; faith is trusting that heaven has
already responded.

To pray according to His will is to pray from intimacy, not information. It is
the fruit of knowing His heart. When our desires are shaped by His Spirit, our
prayers carry authority. They agree with heaven’s intentions and release heaven’s
outcomes into the earth.

Notice the progression in this passage: confidence → alignment → assurance →
possession. If He hears us, we know we have. Not someday. Not eventually. But
in the economy of heaven, it is already established.

This is a season where God is shifting His people from hopeful prayer to confident
intercession—from asking with uncertainty to asking with agreement. As sons
and daughters who know His will, we pray boldly, rest deeply, and trust fully.

Prayer

Heavenly Father , Thank You for the confidence You give us in Your presence.
Thank You that when we pray according to Your will, You hear us—and when
You hear us, the answer is already secure. Teach us to pray from intimacy,
aligned with Your heart and Your purposes.

Thank You Father, for shaping our desires by Your Spirit. Removing
uncertainty and replacing it with assurance. Let our prayers be rooted in
trust, not striving, and our faith anchored in the truth that You are attentive,
faithful, and near.
We rest in the confidence of being heard.
We rejoice in the certainty of answered prayer.

In the mighty name of Jesus, amen and amen
